A Photograph I Like

Today I’m going to talk about of one of my favorites photographes of this year. This one, was taken on our fieldtrip to Neltume, in the south of Chile.

This place is called Salto La Leona, and it’s part of the Huilo Huilo biological reserve. I like this photo because reminds me of this wonderful trip I had the chance to take with somo of my classmates. We had the oportunity to see all kind of beautiful places and also, we talked to the people from the town, who had a lot to say about the turismo in the region.

We stayed in Neltume for seven days, we rent a hut with two bedrooms, so we had to share room, because we were six. Even if we had our differences, we get along together and share a lot of good moments on our fieldtrip, and we were able to elaborate a good investigation from the speech of the population of Neltume.

I really want to visit Neltume again, because we didn’t had enough time to tour all the atractions of the biological reserve and the surrounding towns, that also had a lot of beatiful places to visit.

The things I would if I won the lottery

Hello everybody, today I’m going to talk about something we all wished to come true someday: WINNING THE LOTTERY.

If I ever won the lottery, I would, first of all, share my happines with all my family and pay all our bills. After that, I would buy a house for me and my mom to finally leave my grandmother’s house. It would be a house with a lot of space and a great garden to keep my pets happy.

Other thing I would like to do If I won the lottery is donate a part of my Price to a fundation that take care of animals that don’t have a home, because I hate to see animals suffering, mostly dogs of the streets who don’t have a family to take care of them and give them love.

Finally, I would take a great vacations with all my family. I would like to take a tour for Chile, to know all the beautys of my country, and with the rest of the money, I would put it in the bank so I will have savings for hard times.

Anyway, the chances of this to happen are very low, so I think I would have to strive to get all I want.

My future Job

When I think about my future job, I still see it so far away that I can´t really be sure about it. Next year I have to decide my mention on my career, and I will choose physical anthropology. This area studies the biological and behavioral aspects of human beings, their related non-human primates and their extinct hominin ancestors. It is a subfield of anthropology that provides a biological perspective to the systematic study of human beings. It also can be aplicatted in forensic analisys, which is a very interesting area for me.

When I finish my studies, I would like to work with archaeologist by recognizing Paleopathologies, this is the study of disease in antiquity. This study focuses not only on pathogenic conditions observable in bones or mummified soft tissue, but also on nutritional disorders, variation in stature or the morphology of bones over time, evidence of physical trauma, or evidence of occupationally derived biomechanic stress. In that way, I would be able to discover new things about ancient societies and how they lived.

Anyway, there’s a lot of field that can be learned and explored on my career, so I still have time to decide where to focus my investigations. For the moment, I would study hard to become a good profesional.

Summer plans

With the semester coming to end, summer plans are coming to my mind. Even if I would like to go immediately to the beach and have a two months tanning, I have to stay in Santiago because I have a part time job. Anyway, that doesn`t mean that I’m not going to travel anywhere on my vacations, because there’s no way I’m staying in Santiago all the summer. Because of my wok, I saved money for my vacations with my family, we will go to Maitencillo beach, which is located near to Zapallar.

Besides, on January 15th, I will celebrate my birthday with my friends on a party organized by Fonda Permanente. That’s going to be at Club Hipico, and I will enjoy a lot of cumbia bands.

On the other side, I will use my vacation time to rest from all the stress of the year, just resting in my house with all my family, because I didn’t had a lot of time to share with them this year, because of the university and my job.

Anyways, I hope you all have a nice vacations and we will see us again next year!

A TV programme I saw as a child

When I was a child, I saw a lot of cartoons on tv, but my favorite one was Hey Arnold!, a programme about the everyday life of Arnold, a 4th-grader in a nameless city that resembles Brooklyn, New York, who lived in a boarding house with his grandparents and a motley assortment of neighbors and friends.

                                                           Hey Arnold! (1996) Poster
I liked the theme very much, all the characters had something special and the adventures where really interesting. Besides, the programme had a very special love story. Helga, one of the characters, is in love with Arnold, but she hide it by mocking him and telling him nasty things, but in the end, she can´t hide her love for Arnold.

Anyway, i have to recognize I loved this show when I was a kid, in fact I still like it a lot.

Superpowers

In the last years, superhero movies had become really popular between people of all ages, taking us to a world where people born o acquire superpowers to fight (most of the time) against evil. If I had to choose a superpower, I definitely would like to get teletransportation, the ability to go anywhere I want only by thinking of it.  I recognize, I'm talking from laziness, because it would be wonderful to go everywhere without having to take a bus or the subway. I could travel to the world whenever i want, and enjoy all of the fun places, and the return to my home to sleep.

Anyway, even if i would love to have that superpower, we need to remember the one thing that all superhero movies had taugth us.

With a big power, comes a big responsability!

A Country I'd like to visit

Is hard to decide but I think I would like to go to New Zealand. I don´t know much about this country, only what I’ve seen on tv, but I know is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean with English as a predominant language. Also, they have a constitutional monarchy, headed by their queen Elizabeth II.

I would like to go to New Zealand to work and study, but obviously, I really want to visit their popular places and learn more about their culture. I would like to live in Auckland which is the most populated city of New Zealand, get a part-time job and study at The University of Auckland because they have Antropology as a career and I’d like to learn about other ways to understand my career and share what I’ve learned on Chile.

                                            (The University of Auckland)

I would like to live in a hostal with other students of different countries to discover this wonderful country together.
